Aside from McCarren park, there are plenty of legal and fun places to drink outside in Williamsburg. Gridskipper, that site that used to be awesome but now writes about the Hamptons too much, put together a nice little guide listing these locations. Among them, Bushwick Country Club, Harefield Road, and about 10 others.
I love Bushwick Country Club, so here's Gridskipper's description:"I've always had a love-hate relationship with this place, given its proximity to my apartment, but for the sake of this map I'll just focus on the good: the photo booth, the backyard (there's a makeshift putt-putt course), and the Jim Bean slushies served all summer long."
